Welcome to Our Home We are so happy to welcome you into our home! We are a warm, friendly, and culturally rich family who truly enjoys hosting students from around the world. Our family includes three grown sons, all of whom have completed college and are now working professionals—one is also happily married. We began hosting students over 12 years ago when our own children went off to college, and since then, it has become something we truly love. Over the years, we have had the pleasure of hosting students from countries such as Japan, France, and China, and we value the meaningful cultural exchanges that come with each experience. With over a decade of hosting experience, we understand how important it is to create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment where you can feel at home while studying. Our household reflects a vibrant blend of Jamaican, American, and Liberian cultures. We love sharing our traditions through delicious home-cooked meals, meaningful conversations, and everyday experiences. Food, family, and community are at the heart of everything we do. We also have a personal understanding of what it means to trust another family with your child. Two of our sons attended The Peddie School, a private boarding school near our home, so he could experience living away independently. He also spent a summer in France with a homestay family. Because of these experiences, we truly understand what it feels like for both students and parents—and how important it is for students to feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for while they are away from home. We enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors—whether it’s going for walks, exploring local areas, or simply enjoying fresh air together. As our guest, you are not just staying with us—you are becoming part of our extended family. We are here to support you, help you adjust, and make your experience both enjoyable and memorable.
