Welcome to your American family! We love hosting (this will be our 12th year round host). Most of our students return for multiple visits and bring their families to meet their American “Mom and Dad”. We treat our students as family. Cherie loves cooking and makes a variety of yummy foods. Steve is into Classic cars and has restored several of them. We participate in many senior center, special Birthday, community and parade displays with our vehicles. We have a sweet Siberian Husky female who loves our students. We are also caregivers for 2 very nice young men who have some disabilities. They are usually gone to work on most days. We love tv, movies, reading, going out to eat, shopping and relaxing at home. We can’t wait to meet you and make you a part of our family!

About the household

Our home is in a quiet family neighborhood, park on next block has basketball hoops. Many places within walking: LA Fitness, Target, Flame Broiler, Denny’s, Del Taco, etc. The house has 2 upstairs hallways that separate 4 of the bedrooms and 2 of the bathrooms.

We try to have our evening meal together as a family. We do not expect anyone to be on their cell phones at that time. Also, expect that the kitchen closes at 8 PM, if you are not down here for the normal dinner time between 5 and 6 PM and are deciding to order food or cook your own, you must be finished by 8 PM. Please keep your room picked up and clean and also it is your responsibility to clean your bathroom. You may not go out on a school evening, however, Friday and Saturday evenings are OK if you are out with your friends. Please always close some of the multiple indoor gate system and also be sure you always lock the front door when you enter and when you leave. This is very important as we do not wish for our elderly Husky to find her way outside. She would not know how to get back home. We are pretty easy-going and are willing to discuss any rules that you feel you need to change or do not care for. We also try to go to church every Sunday as a family, however, since Covid, we have not been as regular as we would like to be. You may have friends over, just be sure to ask before inviting and that also includes anytime you are wishing to go. Please be sure to ask if it is a good time and we also want to know exactly where you are going and who you are going out with. You are part of a family and as a family, we are doing our best to protect you in all situations.
